Is there anything more joyful than listening to Taylor Swift perform live? Only if Taylor Swift is also singing holiday music during the holiday season — like she did at the 2019 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball presented by Capital One in New York City.
Taking over the Madison Square Garden stage, Taylor performed a number of fan favorites like "Blank Space," Me!," an acoustic version of "Welcome To New York," and "Shake It Off." She also performed songs from her new album Lover, like the title track "Lover" and "You Need to Calm Down."
But, being that Jingle Ball is a holiday-themed show, T-Swift gifted the crowd with a performance of her new holiday song "Christmas Tree Farm," as the adorable music video featuring footage from her childhood growing up on an actual Christmas tree farm played in the background.
First of all ... have you ever seen anyone more ADORABLE in a Santa hat? I THINK NOT.
MRS. CLAUS COULD NEVER.
Aside from spreading holiday cheer by singing loud for all to hear, the crowd at MSG not only sang along to her music, they also sang her "Happy Birthday" since it was also Taylor's 30th. After her performance, iHeartRadio's Elvis Duran brought out an epic birthday cake, featuring the faces of her three cats Meredith, Olivia and Benjamin. Then, the entire arena sang Taylor "Happy Birthday."
A video also played, which featured many of Taylor's famous friends also wishing her a happy birthday, including Katy Perry, Camila Cabello, Niall Horan, 5 Seconds of Summer, and more.
And what would be a Taylor Swift performance without some easter eggs? Some fans on social media speculated that the necklace Taylor wore on stage said "Miss Americana," which not only reflects one of the songs on her album Lover ("Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince"), but also pays tribute to the title of her forthcoming documentary, Miss Americana. The doc will open January's Sundance Film Festival, and then make its way to Netflix for fans to watch.
If you missed any part of the show, or just want to relive the night — we've got you covered. The CW Network will broadcast the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball as a nationwide special on Thursday, December 19th at 8pm ET featuring this year’s most incredible performances from the annual holiday event.
