Ariana Grande trended on Twitter for many reasons Friday during Aretha Franklin’s funeral. Bishop Charles H. Ellis III has apologized after touching the singer inappropriately as well as making a joke about Ariana’s name that people found distasteful.
Besides the bishop’s inappropriate groping of Ariana’s breast, while he was talking with his hand around her, Ariana was criticized for her dress and brought her fiance, Pete Davidson to the funeral. "It would never be my intention to touch any woman's breast," he told the Associated Press after the complaints surfaced. "I don't know I guess I put my arm around her. Maybe I crossed the border, maybe I was too friendly or familiar but again, I apologize."
The bishop also apologized about saying that he though Ariana’s name was something ‘new on the Taco Bell menu’, "I personally and sincerely apologize to Ariana, her fans and to the whole Hispanic community," he told the AP. "When you're doing a program for nine hours you try to keep it lively, you try to insert some jokes here and there."
People tweeted negatively about Ariana’s choice of attire as well, Ariana wore a short mid-thigh black dress which some people felt was inappropriate, with some even noticing that her ponytail was longer than the dress. Finally, other people thought that Grande should’ve left her fiance, Pete Davidson at home. Ariana hasn’t responded.
